Animals are wondrous creatures. From giant whales breaching to ants scurrying about on a picnic blanket, there’s no shortage of shape, activity, or personality when photographing the millions of varied animals on our planet. We see traits of ourselves in them…playfulness, parenting, resting, joy, fear. Each has it’s place, just like we do, and it’s catching them in those moments that I enjoy.
Sometimes it’s just about the looks…sort of a modeling photo for an animal. Sometimes it’s the personality or emotion…like when I look at my dog and hope that someday God lets me see what it was like to think (or not) like her. Sometimes it’s the setting…the wrong animal in the wrong place or the right one in the perfect place.
In the end, we all have animals that touch our hearts. Domesticated or wild as my favorite, the tiger, something in us leaps when we get greeted at the door by our pets or have the chance to see a documentary about the ones we find most fascinating. I look to captivate them in photos so they can remain free to roam our jungles and living rooms.
If you’d like a session with your favorite pet, we’ll find exactly what makes them special and get you the animal photos you’ll be proud to display.
